THE SPRINGBOARD MUSIC PODCAST LAUNCHES TO MAKE MUSIC BIZ DREAMS COME TRUE

Helmed by Rachael Hession, program debuts at No.12 in Apple Podcasts Music Interviews category; first four episodes are available now

Rachael Hession

NASHVILLE, TN.... FEBRUARY 8, 2023 -  The Springboard Music Podcast, helmed by Rachael Hession, who most recently served as Manager of National Promotion at Capitol Christian Music Group, has launched with its first four episodes.  Peaking at No. 12 in Apple Music Podcast's Music Interviews category in its first 24 hours, Chartable also has the program ahead of “Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast," “David Guetta The Podcast,” “The New Music Business with Ari Herstand,” and “Exit 209 with Storme Warren - SiriusXM” upon it's debut.

Featuring Morgan Evan's bass player Andrew Brown, Director of Digital Partnerships and Revenue at Universal Music Group's Shannon Woodworth, and Concord + Chromatic Music Publishing songwriter Lauren Hungate (parts 1 + 2), the debut features went live Feburary 7th, with new episodes releasing every other Tuesday.

"I knew from an early age that I wanted to be involved in the Music Industry," says Hession, describing why she started the podcast. "I just always thought you had to be an artist or songwriter, and those were your only two options.  After watching an episode of American Idol, I looked up what Simon Cowell’s path was to his career—he did radio promotion, as well as A&R. I immediately thought radio promotion would be cool, but didn’t think it was something you could just jump into, so I pursued A&R. I couldn’t afford to go to a school that had a music business program, so I went to a small private school with the intention of graduating as quickly as I could to move down to Nashville. I studied Marketing, thinking it was “similar” to A&R (branding). During that time, I had no one on campus who understood what I was trying to do with my life, and no one in my family had ever considered a career like the one I was striving for. I wished so badly there was someone young, who had recently broken into the industry, who didn’t have it all handed to them, that wasn’t an artist, that could tell me their story. Thus, The Springboard Music Podcast."

Hosting a variety of interviews with music industry professionals that listeners can look up to, pick their brain, etc., the podcast breaks down the elusive persona of the Music Industry and is geared toward an audience whose always dreamt of working in music, but don't know where to start.  While each episode reveals no direct path to a dream job, each guest provides insight on how to gain experience while in high school or college, what type of person would be a good fit for the job, and whether or not they consider themselves as “living the dream.”

The Springboard Music Podcast will help listeners realize there is space for them at the "music industry table," no matter what their skills or passions are.

"You can be a photographer, and work in the Music Industry. You can be an accountant, and work in the music industry. You can be in IT Security, and work in the music industry," continues Hession.  "I hope young professionals won’t feel so alone and lost in their dreams after listening, that they will reach out to the guests, and take steps to gaining experience now to heart. I also hope that in 10 years, I run into them and hear about their successful careers, making it happen, and still doing what they love."

The Springboard Music Podcast Season 1 Guests and Topics:

Lauren Hungate

Lauren Hungate – signed songwriter to Concord + Chromatic Music Publishing
When Hungate fell into songwriting, it wasn't until she already had held two jobs in the music industry (one at Red Light Management and another at Capitol Christian Music Group). In this ep she shares how she discovered her love for songwriting, how she made the decision to leave her salaried job, and eventually, how she entered a song contest and got signed to a publisher.

Cassie Petrey

Cassie Petrey – Co-Founder of Crowd Surf
Petrey and Hession get into digital marketing trends, the difference between being an “influencer” and a “helper” to your audience, and what is an underutilized social media platform.

Aaron Tochini

Aaron Tochini – Director of Events at Music Business Association
Originally pursuing a career in music, Tochini found himself working in catering + events at the Omni hotel in Nashville. Little did he know that he made an impression with the Music Business Association and later became a member of their staff. He has now run over 80 events for MBA and they have a great time discussing what goes into making an event amazing.

Shannon Woodworth

Shannon Woodworth – Director of Digital Partnerships and Revenue at Universal Music Group (Nashville)
Shannon has done it all—been on American Idol, started a blog, is a successful influencer, is a mom and a wife, an author, and also works full time at UMG Nashville. She discusses how she "does it all," what the process was for Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan’s song, “Buy Dirt,” to go viral on Tik Tok, and how she started UMG Nashville’s first ever philanthropic venture called Parade of Trees.

Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown – Bass player for Morgan Evans
Brown and Hession chat about his transitioning from an existing career to pursue a career in music, soundcheck etiquette, what it’s like entering into an existing band, and advice for touring the world while having a life partner back at home.

Alex Quattlebaum

Alex Quattlebaum – Senior Manager of Touring at futureshirts
This episode covers the difference between VIP and Merch teams, the importance of hiring merch reps that fit your brand, and at what point an artist should considering making and selling merch.

LB Cantrell

LB Cantrell – Director of Operations and Content at Music Row Magazine

In this episode, we discuss transferring from one out of station school to another to pursue music, going straight to the person in charge asking for opportunities, and how to dream bigger within the job you currently have.

Ryan Byrd

Ryan Byrd – American Music Awards nominated Video Producerfor Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce's “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,"  Anne Wilson's “Hey Girl” and Tauren Well's “Joy In The Morning.”

This episode marks the season finale in three parts. They discuss attending Belmont, not for music, but for film—how to gain experience, finding common threads through her upbringing that were foreshadows to her career path, what the term “producer” really entails, and why she wouldn’t consider herself living the dream.

ABOUT RACHAEL HESSION:

Hession knew she wanted to be in Music Business, but couldn’t afford a college with a Music Business program and so went to college to get a business degree in Marketing in Upland, Indiana—a town with only two blinking yellow stoplights and cornfields. Itching to leave Indiana and make her way to Nashville, she graduated in three years, and then spent her last semester studying at the Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, TN—a program for college students to gain hands on learning experience in the music industry.

After applying for a Commercial Partnerships internship at Capitol Christian Music Group and then awarded the position with only Ace Hardware on her resume, it wasn't long before she applied for a Sales and Services Representative position at the label and was hired. Four weeks into the job, HR called asking if she would consider applying for the open position as Administrator on the National Promotion team. Not wanting to be “that millennial” that jumped ship when the next opportunity came, it took several conversations and much support from her executives before making the switch to the radio team October 2017.

In December 2019, Hession was promoted to Manager of National Promotion at just 24 years old. During her time at Capitol, the team brought in 25 #1 records and broke new artists such as Anne Wilson and We The Kingdom.

ZONDERKIDZ TO PUBLISH BROADCASTER RAYMOND ARROYO’S NEW CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOK SERIES, TURNABOUT TALES

                                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ZONDERKIDZ TO PUBLISH BROADCASTER RAYMOND ARROYO’S NEW CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOK SERIES, TURNABOUT TALES

The Unexpected Light of Thomas Alva Edison

releases March 21, 2023

Grand Rapids, MI – January 31, 2023 – Zonderkidz is pleased to announce that New York Times bestselling author, broadcast journalist and producer Raymond Arroyo will publish a new children’s picture book series titled Turnabout Tales, with the first book arriving in stores on March 21, 2023, titled The Unexpected Light of Thomas Alva Edison. Illustrated by Kristina Gehrmann, the book will be for children 4-8 and beyond who will enjoy learning how small moments and events in one’s life can create a big change, much like Edison’s life did.

Based on the younger years of inventor Thomas Alva Edison, the book highlights the support of his mother, Nancy Edison, who understood Thomas had a special curiosity and went on to school him at home to help expand his worldview and understanding of all things nature and science. Edison’s curiosity often got him into trouble, but also led to his love of chemistry, the mechanics of the telegraph and more. His struggle with deafness at an early age also compelled him to become a compulsive reader. Edison’s mother was his biggest advocate, and he opened up an “invention factory” in 1876 to honor her after her unexpected death.

The Turnabout Tales series will feature pivotal moments in other historic lives, each revealing challenges faced, paths changed and history turned. More books will be announced later in 2023. This series was acquired by Zonderkidz Publisher Megan Dobson and Senior Acquisitions Editor Katherine Jacobs, from agent Chip Flaherty of Bamtrey Strategies.

“Zonderkidz is happy to bring these unique stories from Raymond to a wide audience who will appreciate history and the hidden backstories of characters that can inspire children and their families even today,” says Megan Dobson, Vice President and Publisher of Zonderkidz. “We seek to highlight tales that bring light and joy while also delivering inspiring yet little-known stories that bring history to life for kids in an all-new, fun way. Acquiring this series fits perfectly within our mission.”

“We often forget that talent is nurtured by love and belief. I was drawn to Edison when I read a comment where he attributed his entire career as an inventor to his mother,” says Arroyo, host of the global news program The World Over Live on EWTN, and a Fox News Contributor. “At a critical point, when he was tossed from school, it was Edison’s mother who recognized his spark and changed the trajectory of his life. My hope is that the whole series will inspire kids and their families to be open to the direction of their children’s gifts and interests. Often it is by looking back that we can see the best way to go forward –and that’s what I hope to do with Turnabout Tales.”

The book includes an author note and bibliography for further reading. A Teaching Guide and Activity Guide will also be available for free download to parents and educators at www.zonderkidz.com

“…the light of the invention within Tom might have never illuminated the world, had it not been for a mother who first saw the glow of curiosity in her Al.” – The Unexpected Light of Thomas Alva Edison

Advance copies of the book and interviews are available upon request; a multi-city media tour in several U.S. cities in the spring featuring visits to media and schools is in process.

GRAMMY NOMINEE PHIL WICKHAM DEBUTS NEW SINGLE, "THIS IS OUR GOD" TODAY

                                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GRAMMY NOMINEE PHIL WICKHAM DEBUTS NEW SINGLE,

"THIS IS OUR GOD" TODAY

Nashville, TN... January 9, 2023 - Renowned singer, songwriter, worship leader and current GRAMMY-nominee Phil Wickham has released a brand new single today, "This Is Our God."  Available across all DSP's today, the single is Wickham's first since receiving his first GRAMMY nomination for the top-selling single "Hymn of Heaven" (Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song) as well as for co-writing Chris Tomlin's track “Holy Forever.” The new single and nominations follow his recent collection of three Dove Awards for the Worship Song of the Year with his No. 1 track "Hymn of Heaven," Worship Album of the Year (HYMN OF HEAVEN) and Songwriter of the Year (Artist).

"I am so thankful that when I sing to the God Jesus Christ I am not singing to some distant being far off, but I am singing to a God who came close, who came to save us and to rescue us," shared Wickham about the track.  "When we sing about our God, we sing about a God who loves without condition, who gives grace to the sinner, who saves the one who calls out, who pulls people out of the pit and brings them into His heavenly kingdom. This is our God. A God who saves, a God who redeems, a God who makes beauty from ashes and a God who renews. This is our manifesto. I cannot wait to sing this song with the church. This is our God."

ABOUT PHIL WICKHAM: Since his self-titled debut in 2006, Phil Wickham has emerged as a leader in the modern worship movement, penning countless songs sung in churches around the world. His RIAA Platinum®-certified single “This Is Amazing Grace” was his first career No. 1, holding the top spot for 13 consecutive weeks and named Billboard’s No. 1 “Christian Airplay Song of the Year” in 2014 and BMI’s “Christian Song of the Year” in 2015. His anthemic “Living Hope,” RIAA Gold®-certified, earned him a GMA Dove Award for “Worship Recorded Song of the Year” in 2019.

His latest project, Hymn of Heaven (June 25, 2021, Fair Trade Services), was written during a year when the family of God couldn’t physically gather in houses of worship around the world. “Hymn of Heaven is full of praise and thankfulness, just lifting up the name of Jesus and speaking what we really know the reality is even though we don’t see it,” he says. “All I want to do is facilitate moments where people can encounter the presence of God.” “Battle Belongs” and “House Of The Lord,” both RIAA Gold®-certified singles, all topped the Christian radio charts along with “Hymn Of Heaven” as No. 1 singles at Christian radio. Hymn of Heaven earned Wickham five 2022 GMA Dove Award Nominations, winning in three of them for Worship Song of the Year ("Hymn of Heaven), Worship Album of the Year (Hymn of Heaven) and Songwriter of the Year (Artist).  Wickham received his first GRAMMY nominations late when it was announced that his top-selling single "Hymn of Heaven" was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.  Additionally, Wickham is nominated in the same category as a co-writer for Chris Tomlin's track “Holy Forever,” along with Tomlin, Jason Ingram, Brian Johnson and Jenn Johnson.

Wickham’s music has received hundreds of millions of streams across his catalog and platforms, with his discography including eight full-length projects, multiple Christmas releases, and a series of popular Singalong records that capture Wickham’s songs doing what they were always meant to do—giving people the language to sing to God. Nothing could make me happier than for things to have come full-circle, once again making these great products available to churches and creating new projects that will lead us into the future.”

“Brentwood Benson has been a respected name for a long time in the church music world,” McAfee said. “When Brentwood Benson closed last year, I began discussions regarding acquiring and relaunching the brand under Celebrating Grace’s banner. Our team looks forward to making available accessible and worshipful music from the existing catalog and creating new music for the worship of God.”

NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR & PODCASTER ANNIE F. DOWNS LAUNCHES BRAND NEW PODCAST

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHOR & PODCASTER ANNIE F. DOWNS LAUNCHES BRAND NEW PODCAST

LET'S READ THE GOSPELS with ANNIE F. DOWNS launched January 1st, will explore all four Gospels daily with various translations

NASHVILLE, TN....January 4, 2023 - New York Times best-selling author and podcaster Annie F. Downs has launched a brand new podcast, LET'S READ THE GOSPELS with ANNIE F. DOWNS. On January 1st, Downs began a daily exploration of all four Gospels, guiding listeners through a monthly reading of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Religion News Service covered new Bible podcasts prior to the launch, with Downs commenting on how while her inspiration came out of the confusion of 2020, the Bible was grounding in the midst of it all, sharing, "the Bible never changed...and these stories never changed....And Jesus’ response never changed."

The 18th podcast to join Downs' That Sounds Fun Podcast Network (TSFN),  LET'S READ THE GOSPELS with ANNIE F. DOWNS will cover three chapters from a Gospel each day and often read from different translations, as well as in a different chronological order than they appear in the Bible. With each of these books telling the stories of Jesus' life and ministry, the podcast will give listeners a chance to get to know Him in new ways.  Downs will also offer a downloadable reading plan and guidebook at AnnieFDowns.com.

"Starting this podcast was the next right thing after spending a few years in this spiritual practice of reading the Gospels each month," says Downs. "Getting to read it out loud now, for the next twelve months, will hopefully be an invitation and a bridge and an opportunity for God to move in our lives. You don’t have to spend every day in the Gospels to be changed, but every day you spend in the Gospels will change you.”

TRANSPARENT PRODUCTIONS CLOSES OUT 2022 WITH 300+ SHOWS, GROWING STAFF, AND SUCCESSFUL TOURS WITH PHIL WICKHAM, CECE WINANS, BRANDON LAKE, DANNY GOKEY AND MORE

Nashville, Tenn. (December 16, 2022) — Leading Christian concert promoter Transparent Productions closes out another tremendous year of growth, partnership and ministry. The company helmed 300+ shows throughout 2022. Additionally, they increased their personnel, which now includes a staff of more than 30 professionals who are passionate about sharing the message of the Gospel through live events.

“I’m incredibly proud of our growing team and the countless hours they’ve given to making this year a tremendous success,” shares Transparent Productions President Jared Gibo. “We’re so thankful to be partners in ministry with these truly gifted artists, speakers and writers.”

Over the past 12 months, Transparent supported concerts and events headlined by a variety of faith-based artists, authors and speakers.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Phil Wickham sold out 27 of his 32 dates this year in advance of his massively successful “Hymn of Heaven Tour,” which featured Josh Baldwin, among other guests. Wickahm also recently brought his “BEHOLD Christmas Nights” to select cities across the country, Wickham’s holiday show at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, marked the largest and highest-grossing event of his career with more than 11,000 people in attendance. The milestone evening also included Anne Wilson and Brandon Lake.

This fall, Transparent was privileged to be the touring partner for CeCe Winans as the Gospel legend embarked on her first tour in more than 10 years. Fans were clearly eager to hear her incomparable voice in-person, selling out 16 of 20 total dates. “We were honored this year that CeCe Winans would trust us with her first real tour in more than a decade. She is an amazing talent and minister. The crowds were beyond excited to come out and worship with her,” says Transparent Productions CEO Tim Taber. “It was a really special tour to be able to produce, and we’re looking forward to the second leg in Spring 2023.”

Additionally, GRAMMY® and multi-Dove Award winner Brandon Lake spent the fall on the “Miracle Nights Tour” — the first headlining run of his career — alongside special guests Blessing Offor and Joshua Silverberg, selling out every date on the 13-city trek weeks in advance.

Danny Gokey kicked off a busy fall season with “The Jesus People Tour.” The 24-city jaunt resulted in six sold-out concerts and featured Jordan Feliz and Tasha Layton.

GRAMMY® nominee Anne Wilson headlined her first tour in support of her smash debut, My Jesus, selling out multiple venues in advance.

Transparent was honored to help celebrate the life of former Big Daddy Weave founding member Jay Weaver as the group returned to the road in January. The beloved band took their biggest hits to 48 cities across the country.

Acclaimed author and speaker Lysa TerKeurst encouraged women across the country with the “Encounter Tour” in March and May. In November, she released Good Boundaries and Goodbyes, before launching another nine-city outing focused on the themes she explores in her latest book.

New York Times bestselling author, speaker and podcast host Annie F. Downs reprised her popular “That Sounds Fun Podcast Tour” in February and March with stops in Maryland, South Carolina, Colorado, Oregon and California.

Transparent was proud to partner with Bryan and Katie Torwalt for their new live album recording in Costa Mesa, California, where the company is headquartered. Throughout May, the worship duo completed a tour with Benjamin William Hastings that visited a dozen cities up and down the West Coast and into Texas.

Meanwhile, Casting Crowns celebrated two of the biggest shows of their fall leg of “The Healer Tour” in partnership with Transparent playing to huge crowds at Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, with CAIN and Wilson adding support.

LONG-TIME KLTY MORNING PERSONALITY FRANK REED TO HOST "KeepTheFaith DALLAS-FORT WORTH" BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2023

                                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LONG-TIME KLTY MORNING PERSONALITY FRANK REED TO HOST

"KeepTheFaith DALLAS-FORT WORTH"

BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2023

Nashville, TN…December 13, 2022 -- Iconic radio host Frank Reed, KLTY personality for over three decades, will retire from the station’s morning show at the end of this month, but will remain on America's leading commercial Christian radio station as host of the new "KeepTheFaith Dallas-Fort Worth" beginning Sunday, January 1. Reed will host a special edition of "KeepTheFaith," America's top-rated syndicated faith-based franchise, specifically designed for the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. The show will air Sunday mornings from 6 a.m. to noon. It will also lead-in to KLTY's weekday morning drive program from 5 to 6 a.m.

"I am delighted to enter this new chapter of life," says Reed. "I get to continue serving the people of Dallas-Ft. Worth by telling stories of hope and encouragement on the greatest radio station in America. I guess 'retirement' looks different than I originally thought. God is full of surprises! I am honored and excited to join the team at 'KeepTheFaith.' KLTY is my home and will always be."

According to Mike Prendergast, KLTY Program Director, "Frank is a long-time staple of KLTY and one of the market's favorite, most-respected on-air personalities. By combining his voice and influence with the rich story-driven content provided by the producers of 'KeepTheFaith,' we believe that we will deliver an incredibly engaging listening experience for our audience that separates us from all others in the nation's 5th largest radio market."

Jeff Mitchell, KLTY General Manager, states, "We've seen the tremendous success 'KeepTheFaith' has had across the nation, especially on the Salem owned-and-operated stations. In many cases the program is #1 on Sunday mornings. It has also proven to be an incredible lead-in to morning drive in major markets across America. Showcasing Frank during these highly visible hours brings tremendous value to our station and the advertisers that have been a part of Frank's journey here at KLTY for decades."

David Sams, CEO of KeepTheFaith Radio, credits Mitchell, Prendergast and Reed for "thinking outside the box," stating, "When Frank made himself available to step in as substitute co-host of the nationally syndicated version of 'KeepTheFaith' earlier this year, the light bulb went off. Frank saw the value in the exclusive, highly produced story content that our team delivers and Mike and Jeff saw the value of keeping Frank's presence on the air. As for us, these additional hours on one of America's highest-rated radio stations will bring our advertiser clients even greater value." "KeepTheFaith" is represented by Salem Media Reps.

The nationally syndicated version of "KeepTheFaith" with Keith Stevens and Donna Cruz will continue to air on KLTY on Saturday nights. The show is syndicated from coast-to-coast including 19 of the top 20 markets. "KeepTheFaith" provides approximately 150,000 cumulative hours of inspiring content to both Christian and Country radio stations in the U.S. and Canada on an annual basis. The "KeepTheFaith" content library includes some 40,000 highly produced audio content pieces, specifically designed to bring listeners hope, encouragement and tools to live their very best lives.

Reed joined KLTY in 1991 and after stints at “96X” WMJX Miami, “CLASS 105.9" WOCL Orlando and at "660 WNBC" New York in middays between Don Imus and Howard Stern. He would then move to Christian radio with a stint at WWDJ Hackensack, NJ before joining KLTY.

About Amy Grant:
Amy Grant's career spans more than 40 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into becoming an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist. With three multi-platinum albums, six platinum albums and four gold albums, her total career album sales have exceeded 30 million and over 1 billion global streams. Grant’s chart success has been consistent throughout her career with six No. 1 hits, 10 Top 40 pop singles, 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks and multiple Contemporary Christian chart-toppers. In addition to her six GRAMMY® Awards, Grant has earned 26 Dove Awards (including four Artist of the Year Awards) and has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as the Music City Walk of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Conventional wisdom has it that Grant put Contemporary Christian Music on the map becoming the first Contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record, the first to hit No. 1 on the Pop charts and the first to perform at the GRAMMY® Awards. With that, her legacy as one of the most influential artists of the past four decades is assured. In April of 2016, Grant celebrated the 25th anniversary of her iconic hit “Baby Baby” with a worldwide release of the song featuring pop sensation Tori Kelly. Tennessee Christmas released in late 2016 and marked Grant’s first all-new holiday album in nearly 20 years. In February 2020, The T.J. Martell Foundation – the music industry’s leading nonprofit to fund innovative medical research focused on treatments and cures for cancer – honored Grant with the Tony Martell Outstanding Entertainment Achievement Award at their annual Honors Gala. 2021 found Grant celebrating her iconic, 5x platinum album, Heart In Motion, releasing a double disc 35th Anniversary Edition over the summer of 2021 that included never before released tracks and updated remixes of the hit singles. 2021 also included a lot of touring as well as a new single release, a cover of the classic song “Put A Little Love In Your Heart,” which closed out  Amy’s shows.  2022 marks anniversaries of her platinum-selling classic “Age To Age” album and the gold-selling “Behind The Eyes” albums. Most recently, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced Grant to be one of the five Honorees who will receive the 45th Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements later this fall.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COLTON DIXON'S "BUILD A BOAT" IS THE LONGEST RUNNING

MEDIABASE CHRISTIAN AC #1

SONG OF 2022,

SPENDING 7 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS

IN THE TOP SPOT SO FAR

“To anyone who had anything to do with this song, thank you,” Dixon recently told Billboard“Even more than having my No. 1 across these formats, I’m so grateful that so many people have applied the meaning of this song to their own story. Faith looks crazy sometimes, but the reward waiting on the other side far outweighs the sacrifice.”

Here's what some of the top PD's in the country are saying -

“Four straight months as the #1 testing song on JOY FM!  Clearly St. Louis has connected with this singable anthem about stepping out in faith.”

-Jeremy Louis / 99.1 Joy! FM/ St. Louis, MO

“‘Build A Boat’ quickly became a hit from the moment we started playing it.  A catchy tune that you can’t help to sing along to – with lyrics that hit just right – ‘Build A Boat’ is a smash and easily in our top five songs this year at WayFM!”

– Steve Shore / WayFM Network

“‘Build A Boat’ is literally a perfect song at the perfect time.  We may be landlocked here in DFW, but my listeners are all aboard the Colton Dixon boat.”       - Mike Prendergast / 94.9 KLTY / Dallas, TX

NEW CAPITOL CHRISTIAN MUSIC GROUP SIGNEE CHRISTIAN PAUL KNOWS WHEN TO “WALK AWAY”

                                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW CAPITOL CHRISTIAN MUSIC GROUP SIGNEE CHRISTIAN PAUL KNOWS WHEN TO “WALK AWAY”

Former Mainstream Act Drops Fresh Track Available Across All DSPs Today

Nashville, Tenn. (November 18, 2022) — New Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG) signee Christian Paul knows when to “Walk Away,” as evidenced by his brand new song available across all DSPs today (11/18). Stream the fresh pop track HERE.

Produced by Frequency (Eminem, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg), “Walk Away” is autobiographical in many ways, considering Christian walked away from a mainstream record deal and aspirations of becoming the next Justin Timberlake or Robin Thicke. The Alabama native grew up on a steady diet of Michael Jackson, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Creed, Nirvana and Weezer; but it was his introduction to Jodeci and other R&B legends that made him fall in love with rhythm and blues.

By the time he was 12, Christian had taught himself how to play guitar and was constantly singing. A brief stint in a now defunct boyband gave him his first taste of the spotlight, but it was his incredible falsetto that led to a solo record deal at 19. During his debut radio tour, one night alone in his hotel room he came across a YouTube video in his Recommended List of a pastor “faithfully preaching the Gospel,” and slowly his life began to change.

Feeling like his new values were at odds with his fast-rising road to pop stardom, the soulful singer made the difficult decision to step away from his mainstream label deal. Assuming this was likely the demise of his career, he took an indefinite hiatus from music. After much soul-searching, the now 22-year-old eventually agreed to meet with some interested labels in Nashville and found a new home at CCMG, where he brings his mainstream pop sensibilities and his tender heart for theology to the original songs he’s crafting.

“My pursuit of musical excellence was always a genuine God-given thing, a God-given bent. He just designed me this way, to have these inclinations toward musical things,” Christian shares. “But the call is ultimately submission. It’s a yielding of one’s life to Christ, to be so persuaded by a truth that you conform your very life to it — that’s faith, and that’s what I’m committed to.”

“Walk Away” follows Christian’s introductory song, “Won’t Rain Anymore,” which quietly ushered in his next era, previewing what’s to come with its textured sonics, effortless vocals and an undeniably positive message. Zane Lowe premiered the rainbow-after-the-rain track — also produced by Frequency — on Apple Music, giving listeners a glimpse into Christian’s fresh musical direction.

Christian is currently writing with some of the top songwriters in Christian music — including Paul Duncan, Jonathan Smith, Jason Ingram, and Paul Mabury, among others — while simultaneously working on original songs with producers who have helmed projects for some of the biggest names in pop, hip-hop and R&B.

Stream “Walk Away” across all platforms HERE.

About Christian Paul:

At only 22, Christian Paul is an old soul with wisdom beyond his years. He’s inspired by the poetry of old hymns as much as he’s influenced by the elements of rhythm and blues. Blazing a trail few have travelled, he doesn’t fit the typical mold; and perhaps that’s what makes him such a compelling new act. A brief stint in a now defunct boyband gave the Alabama native his initial taste of the spotlight, but it was his incredible falsetto that originally led to his first solo record deal at 19. Following a musical hiatus and a season of soul-searching, Christian is opening a fresh chapter of his story in partnership with new label home Capitol Christian Music Group that reveals a soulful singer, multi-instrumentalist and skilled lyricist hitting his stride and discovering his own voice. The music he’s making is a mix of the R&B he was raised on, the pop excellence he once aspired to, and the faith he’s deciphering. He’s currently working on a slate of original songs in LA with some of mainstream pop’s most esteemed producers. Meanwhile, Christian’s first single, “Won’t Rain Anymore,” has quietly ushered in his next era, previewing what’s to come with its textured sonics, effortless vocals and an undeniably positive message. Zane Lowe premiered the rainbow-after-the-rain track, produced by Frequency (Eminem, Rihanna), on Apple Music, giving listeners a glimpse into the trailblazer’s innovative musical direction — a merger of bold pop strokes and thoughtful lyricism that include thinly veiled references to the hope he’s found in giving his life over to something bigger than himself.
