Nashville, Tenn. (Apr. 12, 2018) - Rising country star Brennley Brown, is partnering with Operation Homefront as they recognize seven military kids at the annual Military Child of the Year®. There are approximately 2 million kids under 18 with an active-duty parent. The Military Child of the Year® Award celebrates and recognizes the tremendous achievements of military kids with unique stories and accomplishments despite the constant changes inherent in military life. Among the sixteen year impact of Operation Homefront, more than $22.5 million has been given through the Critical Financial Assistance program, 500 families have received transitional housing, over 300,000 backpacks filled with school supplies have been distributed to military children and much more to ensure the strength, stability and security of military families .
A tangible reminder of the California-based singer/songwriter’s devotion to military service, Brown continues to wear her grandfather’s dog tags from his military service. In addition to from her music endeavors, Brown brings multiple characters to life in Disney’s “Tangled: The Series,” “Sofia the First” and Nickelodeon’s “Shimmer and Shine.” Brown will hit the road this spring alongside Hayley Orrantia, Star of ABC’s hit sitcom, “The Goldbergs,” on “The Strong, Sweet & Southern Tour.”

Aligning with April’s the Month of the Military Child, six outstanding children, ages 13-18, representing each service branch are recognized for their resiliency, leadership and community service at the gala. A separate award for innovation is given to a child who has developed a creative solution to a challenge in the community. Former participants include former First Lady Michelle Obama, singer/songwriter, philanthropist Bret Michaels and more.
