Nashville, Tenn. (September 13, 2024) — Church of the City is poised for a busy fall as the Tennessee-based worship collective readies a trio of new releases. “Who Is Like You,” the first of three brand new songs, drops today (9/13) from Church of the City Worship, the congregation’s primary musical expression — listen HERE. Further showcasing the church’s diverse, multigenerational community, original offerings from KidCity Worship and City Students Worship are also forthcoming.
Today’s debut of vertical worship track “Who Is Like You” extols the innumerable attributes of God and is led by Church of the City Worship member Kyndall Cowart. “The heartbeat of ‘Who Is Like You’ poses and answers the question: ‘Who is like the Lord?’” offers Brantley Pollock, one of the co-writers who helped craft the fresh selection. “All of creation was created to bring glory to the Creator, and I truly believe that worship is the time when human beings experience the truest form of existence. My hope is that this song serves as a gateway for people to enter into the presence of God and to marvel at His holiness and majesty.”
Continuing the momentum of new music, the playful “Wild” is set to release from KidCity Worship on Sept. 27, 2024, followed by the pop-centric “Outside Your Love,” from City Students Worship on Oct. 18, 2024. “Wild” is available to pre-save HERE. Moreover, new Christmas music is in the works from Church of the City with additional details to come.
About Church of the City:
Nashville-based Church of the City is a family of churches founded on one simple mission: Serve the city.Inspired by Habakkuk 3:2 — which says, “Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy” — the initial focus was to launch a group of smaller, community-centered churches that could make an impact on a micro-local level.Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Darren Whitehead, multiple locations — Downtown Nashville, Franklin, Spring Hill — quickly developed into thriving congregations that have grown far past the original vision. Seeking to pursue the way of Jesus for the renewal of the city, the church has organically become a hub for many creatives who call Music City home. Despite its Nashville roots, the music coming out of the church isn’t about any particular artist or songwriter but more the active ministry happening on each campus. As a true artist community, the entire Church of the City team comes together to write, record and release songs that have resonated in powerful ways within their own congregation. Therefore, the music is an overflow of the church’s creative culture through three multigenerational channels: flagship collective Church of the City Worship, and sister collectives City Students Worship and KidCity Worship.
